If you want to get something done, ask a busy person.
Think of all your friends and acquaintances. Most likely you have all sorts of friends. If they are the typical bunch, there are some that never seem to get things done, some that have a million things to do and are constantly rushing here and there but don’t accomplish much, and some that are constantly working on some project or another and have the fruits of their labor to show for it. Most people from the first category never really seem to start anything– nothing started, nothing finished. These people seem to have lots of time on their hands. The second category are those that always seem to run in circles. They might even brag about multi-tasking, but they have a ton of partially completed tasks and unfinished business behind them. The third category of people are the achievers. They are the TIME-MANAGERS. They are the WINNERS. One of the KEYS to SUCCESS in business and management is understanding how long it will take you to complete whatever task you are given. Knowing what a given task requires and the logistics involved will help you become an effective manager. If you can’t do it all yourself, you will have to delegate responsibility and place your trust in others to make it all happen. THAT is the real talent of a LEADER. |
